She is currently teaching an original college level art course she wrote and designed, “African Art and the Art of its Diaspora,” at the Bahamas Baptist Community College Vahni Capildeo and Leila Capildeo. Vahni Capildeo is a Trinidadian writer who teaches at Glasgow University. She is the author of three books of poetry, No Traveler Returns (Salt, 2003), Person Animal Figure (Landfill, 2005), Undraining Sea (Egg Box, 2009), which was shortlisted for the Guyana International Prize
